Tottenham see 34-year-old free agent as 'good fit' to potentially replace Igor Tudor
Tottenham Hotspur already have one name on their shortlist should the club decide to part ways with Igor Tudor in the coming weeks.
It does feel like it is only a matter of time before Igor Tudor’s interim spell as Tottenham Hotspur boss is brought to an end.
Thus far, the Croatian has failed to improve the situation in north London, with results still poor since he took charge almost a month ago.
It has already been revealed that Tottenham have set a timeline for Tudor, with his spell in the Spurs dugout potentially ending prematurely.
Tottenham consider Ryan Mason return amid Igor Tudor sack talk
Football Insider has now revealed that, should Tudor be sacked by Tottenham, former Spurs assistant coach Ryan Mason is one name that will be considered.
It is claimed that Mason is viewed as a “good fit” to replace Igor Tudor at Tottenham, largely because of his experience in the role.
The 34-year-old held the interim position on two previous occasions in 2021 and 2023. Mason is now among a group of names who are currently being linked as potential interim options for Tottenham.
The former Spurs man departed north London last summer to take up the head coach role at West Bromwich Albion, but was dismissed by the Hawthorns in early January after a 10th consecutive away defeat.
Now a free agent, Mason will cost Tottenham nothing in compensation should the club decide to appoint him.
Spurs linked with several interim options
While Mason has been linked and is reported to be an ideal candidate, he will have to join the queue of managers also linked with the Tottenham job.
Tim Sherwood is one who has put his name forward as being open to taking the interim role, while Harry Redknapp has spoken about being ready to take charge on a short-term basis.
Glenn Hoddle has also been tipped to take on the Tottenham job, while there have also been talks of Sean Dyche coming in to steady the ship.
