Aston Villa FPL winners and losers from Gameweek 29: Ollie Watkins joins the 100 Club
Aston Villa took the worst performance of the Unai Emery era and doubled down in a 4-1 loss to Chelsea.
Villa players have been a waste of space for Fantasy Premier League competitors this season. There have been many good times and some impressive performances studded with big moments, but in terms of consistent and points-winning output, it’s really best to look elsewhere. And that’s just when Villa were decent.
Let’s check in with the official Premier League FPL game and see who, if anyone, pulled their weight in Gameweek 29. Spoiler: It was only the guy who scored the goal.
Top Aston Villa FPL scorers in GW29
Conceding four goals and collecting a yellow card meant a -1 score for defender Matty Cash, who drops back to 100 points where he’s been joined at long last by Ollie Watkins.
The striker stumbled into three figures with another one-point week, making him the third Villa player past the milestone. Everyone but Cash returned more than nothing, but only a goal for Douglas Luiz and the corresponding assist from Leon Bailey banked more than two points.
Morgan Rogers still leads the Villa charge with a season total of 130 points. Erling Haaland, the top player in the game, has 195 points.

AVF FPL update GW29
There have been some big moves in our AVF FPL league, where the top story is of course my arrival into the top 20 for the first time this season. Look out, long-standing league leader Gary James.
Warren Torch and Abdelrhman Gooda are now level on points in joint-second, while Rich Brute swaps places with Rich Ludlow to move into fourth place.
Teri Taylor was our top scorer of Gameweek 29, bagging a colossal 94 points courtesy of captain João Pedro (obviously) and a couple of high-scoring Arsenal defenders.
Gareth Jones drops into the bottom five thanks to a 54-point haul for James Brownrigg, but the bottom four remains unchanged. Lucy Smith picked up 21 points and lost ground on the group above.
