Peter Crouch delivers brutal verdict on Tottenham after Crystal Palace defeat

0 2

Tottenham Hotspur’s miserable run of form has sparked fierce criticism, with former striker Peter Crouch delivering a brutal verdict after their latest Premier League setback.

Tottenham Hotspur fell short once more in their latest Premier League outing against Crystal Palace.

The Eagles, struggling themselves, managed a comfortable 3-1 win over Tottenham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

That defeat now leaves Spurs a point above West Ham United, who occupy 18th place – the relegation spot – with nine games left to play.

Peter Crouch calls Spurs the worst team in the Premier League

Tottenham are a Premier League constant, having remained in the top flight for the last four decades. However, their recent form has put them at risk of losing that status.

The Lilywhites have managed just two wins in their last 20 games and have now lost their previous five outings.

Former Spurs striker Peter Crouch was watching the match as a pundit for TNT Sports and admitted he could hardly believe what he was seeing.

Asked whether Spurs were currently the worst side in the Premier League, Crouch gave a blunt response.

He told TNT Sports: “I think since Christmas, in 2026 it has proven that is the case, so yes is the honest answer.

“Wolves have picked up a little bit, you know [they are] bottom of the league. Teams around them, West Ham picking up points, Nottingham Forest [too].

“Spurs at the moment, form-wise, without doubt are the worst in the league.”

Tottenham’s results show a worrying trend

Statistically, this season, there have been at least four teams worse off than Tottenham according to the league table, with Spurs sitting 16th.

However, Peter Crouch is not wrong to describe Tottenham as the worst team in the division since the turn of the year.

Based on results from their last five league matches, Spurs sit bottom of the form table. They have picked up zero points, conceded 13 goals, scored four and hold a goal difference of -9.
