Man Utd now targeting move for 24-year-old Juventus star - report
Manchester United are targeting a summer move for Juventus midfielder Khephren Thuram, according to Calciomercato.
The Red Devils are poised to bolster their midfield department this summer with the possibility of multiple exits.
Casemiro is confirmed to leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the campaign.
Manuel Ugarte could also pursue a new challenge away from the Red Devils amid his lack of regular playing time.
Amidst this, Calciomercato claim that United are targeting a summer move for Juventus star Thuram.
The Bianconeri have no plans to part ways with the 24-year-old, and he is reportedly on their ‘unsellable list’.
He currently earns a net salary of £1.7 million per year at the Bianconeri until June 2029.
The Turin giants plan to extend his stay until 2030 with a net salary of £2.6 million per year.
Man Utd could test Juventus’ resolve on Thuram
The Frenchman has been a key player for the Bianconeri since his £16.9 million move from Nice.
He has operated in the central and defensive midfield positions and has caught the eye with his ball control and quality distribution.
Thuram has completed 87 per cent of his passes in Serie A this campaign, losing possession fewer than nine occasions per 90 minutes.
The former Nice man has also won four duels and two tackles per game alongside four recoveries.
Juventus are determined to keep hold of Thuram, as things stand, but the situation could change before the summer transfer window.
The Bianconeri have been in a slump and are presently sixth in Serie A, four points adrift of the final Champions League spot, held by Roma (fourth).
They have also bowed out of the Champions League in the play-offs to Galatasaray.
If Juventus miss out on qualifying for the elite European competition, they may be compelled to accept a big-money transfer to balance their books.
United could test Juventus’ resolve with a £40 million offer for Thuram, in our view. It may all depend on Juventus’ European status next season.
