Serie A club may turn to Liverpool player due to Tottenham’s high transfer valuation

A Tottenham Hotspur star’s hopes of joining a Serie A side may be dashed after the Lilywhites named their asking price.

The expectation is that Tottenham will undertake an ambitious summer rebuild if they preserve their Premier League status.

There is plenty of turnover expected in the Tottenham squad, with some high-profile exits potentially on the cards, depending on if the club can maintain their Premier League status.

A senior Tottenham star, who has started every Premier League game this season, is being linked with an exit from N17, but his proposed transfer may have hit a complication.

Juventus are keen on Guglielmo Vicario

Over recent weeks, we have heard that Juventus have joined Inter Milan in the race for Vicario, who is thought to open to a move to Turin.

A new report in Corriere della Sera (as relayed by Sport Witness) has now revealed that the Bianconeri may have trouble agreeing a deal for the Tottenham number one.

The report explains the Turino-based club had originally wanted to sign Atalanta’s Marco Carnesecchi, but turned their attention to Guglielmo Vicario since he was a cheaper option.

Juve had initially hoped to secure the Spurs star for €20m-€25m (£17.3m-£21.7m), amidst his struggles in North London. However, Tottenham are demanding €30m (£26m) for Vicario, which is considered too high by the Old Lady.

Tottenham’s transfer valuation could see Juve look elsewhere

Corriere della Sera say that the Serie A giants do not fancy paying Tottenham’s asking price for Vicario and are thus ready to turn their attention to Alisson Becker.

Juve believe that the Liverpool number one ‘wouldn’t cost a fortune’ and would be cheaper than the Spurs star.

Given that the Reds already have a readymade number one in Giorgi Mamardashvili, and Alisson’s current deal only lasts until 2027, Luciano Spalletti’s men believe that a deal for the Brazilian is possible this summer.
