The Argentine has not made a competitive appearance since the end of January, missing four of the last five games due to an inflammation in the lateral capsule of his left knee.
He was back in the squad against Juventus on Sunday, spending the entire game on the bench, but on Thursday, he suffered another injury setback in training.
According to reports, Dybala arrived at Rome’s Villa Stuard on Friday morning and, in agreement with the club, decided to undergo surgery, performed by Professor Piero Paolo Mariani.
Dybala’s contract with Roma expires at the end of the season. The Argentine has scored three goals and provided four assists in 22 appearances across all competitions this season.
