Nike's portable stadium kit allows football to be played anywhere

Sport brand Nike and creative agency Amsterdam Berlin have developed the ACG All Conditions Cup System, a movable modular stadium that facilitates football matches on rugged terrains from mountains to deserts.

The portable kit comprises 1,677 individual components, including foldable goals, flood lights and seating for spectators. Its lightweight nature allows the whole system to be easily transported, laid out and taken down.

At the heart of the system is the All Conditions Pitch, anchored by a pair of foldable goals made from anodised aluminium tubes and assembled using built-in interlocking click-fit connections.

Anchors at the end of the tubes make the goals stable on uneven terrain or in snowy environments – something common to every component in the kit.

Seven-metre-tall floodlights sit at each of the pitch's four corners, consisting of 1.2-metre-diameter balloon lamps supported by lightweight aluminium tripod frames.

The pieces that make up the central pitch are lightweight enough to be carried on foot within custom-designed weather-resistant ripstop bags, according to Amsterdam Berlin.

"The kit of parts is not limited to a specific context, but is designed to function reliably in diverse and demanding environments," the studio told Dezeen.

"It can be used in any condition planet earth has to offer: it could host a game in the desert, a match in the rainforest or turn a tiny Caribbean island into a stadium."

Like the goals, seating for spectators is made from anodised aluminium tubes and custom connectors, with 3D-printed spiked feet providing stability.

Waterproof ripstop fabric stretched between the frames forms sling-like seats, with the whole modular seating setup intended to be transported and assembled on-site by the spectators themselves.

Flanking the pitch and seating is a kit rack, made of a tension rail that can be fitted between trees or rocks to form makeshift storage and kit displays, strung with aluminium hangers and carabiners.

The bright orange colourway was selected for its association with Nike's ACG brand, as well as its ease of visibility in adverse weather conditions and wilderness environments.

The kit was originally designed to facilitate the All Conditions Cup, a collaborative event between the Nike ACG brand and football club Inter Milan, centred around a five-a-side football match.

The match – held in a remote mountainous location in Italy's northwestern Piedmont region – marked the launch of the new Nike ACG x Inter clothing collection.

But ultimately, Amsterdam Berlin says the system could be adapted to facilitate almost any sport, anywhere.

"As it is a fully modular system, it can be repurposed, modified and expanded in all directions," the studio explained. "Turning it into a tennis court, a volleyball field or even a hockey rink would not take much."

Nike has had a busy start to 2026 with the relaunch of its ACG sub-brand, hailed by a bright orange-branded train and the release of an inflatable jacket worn by Team USA at the Winter Games.
