Supercomputer predicts how likely Tottenham are to beat Crystal Palace for first win of 2026

0 30

Opta have revealed the likelihood of Tottenham Hotspur picking up their first win under Igor Tudor against Crystal Palace.

Tudor’s arrival has not had the instant galvanising effect on the squad that the Spurs heirarchy would have hoped for.

The team has delivered two poor displays, not too dissimilar to what we have seen them do all of this season and a good part of last campaign.

In fact, Tudor admitted that he has a lot of problems to fix at Tottenham, using the word ‘amazing’ to describe the team’s litany of issues, which suggests that he has been shocked by what he has seen unfold.

Tottenham are favourites to beat Crystal Palace

However, one thing that Spurs can take heart from ahead of their third successive London derby is Palace’s poor form.

The Eagles have won just two of their last 13 Premier League matches, one of which was against 10-man Wolves.

According to Opta’s algorithm, Tottenham go into the clash on Thursday as favourites despite their horrid record at home for the last 18 months.

The Lilywhites have been handed a 45.9 per cent chance of winning the game, while Palace have been handed just a 27.4 per cent chance of doing so. A draw has been given a 26.7 per cent chance.

A big chance for Spurs to pull away from their relegation rivals

Nottingham Forest’s and West Ham’s continued struggles are keeping Tottenham from complete and utter disaster at the moment.

Forest travel to Man City on Wednesday, while the Hammers travel to Craven Cottage, and one would not expect either side to get anything from those games.

Tudor’s men thus have an opportunity to give themselves some breathing space in their battle for survival by somehow pulling a win out of the bag against Oliver Glasner’s men.
