Can't remember which podcast I heard it from, but they made a comment about the management situation that no matter what they do (give the job to Carrick or bring in the new bigger name) they'll make the wrong choice at the end of the season...which I could definitely see happening still.Mad how united are going to finish third.
The problem really with all these elite clubs, no matter how incompetent decisions are made, there really is no jeopardy for them. They can just spend and spend until they trip over something that works after accumulating enough good players. It's up to us and the other teams in the PL to worry about budgets and PSR, and trying to attract players who would often rather sit on a CL teams bench because they can pay way better and it'd look better on their CV.
And it only gets worse once they're back in the CL, especially if they can keep that qualifying year on year so the gravy train keeps going along.
