Fabrizio Romano delivers transfer verdict on Man United links to £30m Premier League star

0 4

Manchester United are poised to bolster their midfield next summer and have been linked with several targets.

Nottingham Forest star Ibrahim Sangare is the latest to be linked, with the club reportedly considering him as a potential replacement for the departing Casemiro.

Signed for £30 million in 2023, Sangare has impressed for Forest this season. He has started 23 games across all competitions, chipping in with two goals and three assists.

He ranks third for tackles and interceptions per game, while he is fourth for accurate passes per game and big chances created for Forest in the Premier League.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has now dismissed the report linking United with the Ivorian midfielder.

He said on his YouTube channel: “My understanding at the moment is that there is nothing really concrete between Manchester United and Sangare.”

United have also been linked with Sangare’s Forest team-mate Elliott Anderson, who has been outstanding since his £35m move from Newcastle United.

Romano has confirmed United’s interest in the England international, but said the club are exploring other options.

“The name they truly appreciate at Nottingham Forest is Elliot Anderson. He is a player they are monitoring, and he is on their list, but he is not the only one,” he continued.

“United’s situation in midfield will depend on the manager, the budget and Champions League football. It is too early to say United will go for a player.”

Brighton’s Carlos Baleba and VfB Stuttgart’s Angelo Stiller are also on United’s radar, while Liverpool’s Alexis Mac Allister and Newcastle’s Sandro Tonali have recently been linked with the club.
