Roma team news: Dybala delight as knee surgery not required
Roma forward Paulo Dybala has been missing since the beginning of the month due to a knee problem but the latest reports from Italy claim that the Argentine will not require surgery and is progressing with his recovery ‘as originally planned.’
According to reports from TuttoMercatoWeb, there was initial speculation that the Argentine would have to undergo surgery on his knee. However, Roma’s staff are now considering other options.
Indeed, after an MRI scan revealed no issues that would be fixed with surgery, Roma decided against any extreme medical intervention.
No Dybala surgery required but Roma teammate Soule not so lucky
Instead, it appears that another of Roma’s forwards, Matias Soule, may not be so lucky.
The Argentine has been suffering from a pubalgia injury that has prevented him from playing a full ninety minutes since last October.
Surgery may help prevent any issues from reoccurring and could likewise help Soule manage the pain.
Roma will need all hands on deck as they prepare to battle for a place in the top four of Serie A. They currently lead 5th-placed Juventus by just one point, and will welcome the Bianconeri to the Stadio Olimpico in March 1 in what is a must-win game.
