Team: Warren, Neill, Leahy, Street, Wilkie, Aoraha, Sanyaolu, Dyke, Hassan, Tarbotton, Scarlett

Subs: Halliday, Adjetey-Brew, Neziri, Trujillo, Vaughan

On a bright afternoon at the TSG Training Centre, it was the visitors who got their noses in front after seven minutes when Conor McManus’s cross found an unmarked Oliver Shield at the far post.

With Caelan Avenell grounded, the players took a drinks break.

After Charlie Warren had attempted to dribble the ball away from the bye-line, Andre Grey blasted over the crossbar.

Following a ball in from the left, Alex Aoraha did well to deny Michel Boni a goalscoring opportunity.

After receiving a blow to the face, Alex Aoraha was eventually taken off and Enis Neziri replaced him.

Whilst under pressure, Leon Scarlett did well to shake off his marker and provide a dangerous cross.

At the other end, Charlie Warren made a brave grab of the ball at the feet of an opponent.

The half-time whistle was blown after around seven added minutes.

For the start of the second-half, Anthony Hayes brought on Ashley Trujillo at the expense of Teddy Tarbotton.

For the Bees, Theo Mawene’s low strike was comfortably saved by Charlie Warren.

With a chilly wind picking up, Brentford doubled their lead on 57 minutes. Following a ball in from the right, Theo Mawene drove it into the far corner from an angled position.

At this point, Rohan Vaughan came on for Philip Sanyaolu.

Charlie Street went down in need of some attention but eventually he was able to return to the fray.

Alex Aoraha’s powerful strike was well grabbed by Reginald Rose.

From time to time, the Brentford keeper was able to take up a position, thirty yards or so upfield.

For the R’s, Rohan Vaughan burst in from the right-flank before shooting just wide of the upright.

The final change came on 75 minutes when Ridwan Hassan made way for Cory Adjetey-Brew.

Brentford came close to increasing their lead after Charlie Warren had parried the ball away, but from the follow-up, Cory Adjetey-Brew superbly got to the goal-line in time to nullify the danger.

However, a minute later, the Bees added a third, when Michel Boni shot past Charlie Warren.

Reginald Rose made a good save from Rohan Vaughan and the ball went behind for a corner.

Charlie Warren made an outstanding one-handed save after Oliver Shield had hooked the ball goalwards from close range.

In the closing stages, Enis Neziri’s two-footed attempt was kept out by the keeper.

Shortly after, Mr Bolland blew the final whistle.

Also looking on were Andy Sinton and Richard Reilly.
