Weekend preview: Another home doubleheader

For the second week in a row Royal Wootton Bassett Town's Men's and Women's First Team sides are both at home. On Sunday Bassett host Devon-based Appledore in the South West Regional Women's Football League Divisional Cup second round (Gerard Buxton Sports Ground, 2pm kick off). The first ever game between the teams, Bassett will be looking to beat a side who find themselves towards the bottom of Division One South and book a quarter final tie against Bitton. Admission on Sunday is £4 for adults, £2 for concessions and free for RWBTFC youth members. Prior to that Bassett welcome fellow form side Cinderford Town in the Hellenic League Premier Division (3pm kick off). For the Foresters it's their first visit to the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground since their 2023-24 promotion playoff final victory - a defeat Bassett will be seeking to avenge. The stakes aren't quite as high this time - but Bassett will be attempting to claw their way back into touch with their mid-table opponents.
