Tottenham may have to fight Arsenal and Man United for £56m tricky winger
Tottenham Hotspur have to see off competition from some of the biggest clubs in the Premier League if they want to land one of their top winger targets in the summer.
At the start of the January window, it was reported that Tottenham were keen on signing a winger, but the Lilywhites failed to strengthen their attack during the window.
One would expect the club to prioritise signing a wide player in the summer, with sources indicating Spurs are eyeing an ambitious squad rebuild at the end of this season.
It has been widely reported over the last few months that the Lilywhites are big fans of an Everton winger, but a deal for the player may be extremely difficult to complete in the summer.
Tottenham are in a four-horse race to land Iliman Ndiaye
The winger in question is Iliman Ndiaye, who Spurs had allegedly made contact with a few months ago, regarding a switch to N17.
CaughtOffside have now revealed that the North Londoners remain interested in the 25-year-old due to his ability to carry the ball at pace and operate effectively in transition.
However, Spurs will face plenty of competition for Ndiaye, with some of England’s biggest clubs taking note of his performances at the Hill Dickinson Stadium this term.
It is asserted that Tottenham would have to see off competition from Premier League heavyweights Arsenal, Man United and Chelsea, who are all monitoring the Senegal international closely ahead of the summer window.
Spurs will have to spend big to land Ndiaye
CaughtOffside makes it clear that Everton are under no pressure to sell, with the winger still having three and a half years left on his deal.
The Merseyside club are in a strong negotiating position, and it is going to take a substantial offer to prise Ndiaye away from the club.
The publication adds that the Toffees would look for a fee in the region of €65m-€75m (£56.6- £65.3m) from the winger’s suitors to sanction a summer sale.
