Destiny Udogie will miss some huge games for Tottenham Hotspur over the next few weeks after the length of the left-back’s absence has been confirmed.

Tottenham Hotspur are in the middle of a major injury crisis, and the last thing they needed was to lose another one of their key men.

However, that is exactly what happened during the 2-0 loss to Man United, with Destiny Udogie forced off with an injury on 55 minutes at Old Trafford.

Thomas Frank has now confirmed that Udogie will be out of action for four to five weeks after picking up a hamstring injury.

Udogie’s injury comes at the worst possible time for Tottenham, who are already without two other full-backs in Pedro Porro and Ben Davies.

Tottenham’s injuries in the heart of their defence mean that Micky van de Ven is also unlikely to be moved to left-back.

That may potentially force Frank to throw January signing Souza into the deep end over the coming weeks.

The Brazilian impressed in his 35-minute cameo at Old Trafford, and he may not get an opportunity very early in his Spurs career to show just what he can offer.
