Will Campbell Ducks Media After Super Bowl Horror-Show
The New England Patriots lost Super Bowl LX to the Seattle Seahawks and Will Campbell did not play well.
Campbell was the fourth overall pick in the NFL Draft and was solid this season. However, he has been inconsistent at times. After his rough outing in the Super Bowl, Campbell declined to face the music and speak to reporters, according to the Boston Globe’s Ben Volin.
Campbell allowed 14 pressures according to NextGenStats. It was the most pressures allowed by a player in any game last season, including the playoffs. His 29 pressures allowed this postseason are the most ever, per NextGenStats.
Campbell has spoken to the media after rough outings throughout the season, but something about Sunday’s loss was different. The entire offense struggled, but the offensive line’s inability to protect Drake Maye was a huge reason for the loss.
Obviously, Campbell was not the only reason the Patriots lost. However, his refusal to speak to the media after his rough outing is not a great look. Plenty of other Patriots players spoke to reporters despite the loss.
Campbell is still only 22 years old and has plenty of football ahead of him. Understandably, he was emotional after the loss, but ducking the media did not seem like the best course of action.
The rest of the team and coaches had to answer tough questions following the loss, but Campbell did not. Perhaps he will speak on the loss at a later date.
