Montella: Kılıçsoy made ‘incredible improvements’ for Cagliari and Turkiye

Turkiye head coach Vincenzo Montella is delighted with Semih Kılıçsoy’s recent improvement at Cagliari: ‘Fabio Pisacane will help him.’

Turkiye international Kılıçsoy has scored four goals since the end of December, becoming a regular starter at Cagliari.

Tonight, he’ll lead the Sardinians’ attack in an away game at Roma.

Montella continues to ‘follow’ Kılıçsoy’s growth

“He was already involved in the Euros, and now we continue to follow his growth,” Montella, a former Roma striker, told Il Messaggero (via TMW).

“His impact in Serie A wasn’t easy, but he has made incredible improvements in the last two months. He needs to keep this balance to confirm himself and improve.”

A top-Serie A striker in the 90s, does Montella see any similarity between him and the Turkish striker?

“We are a bit different. He’s very technical, and he has a goal-scoring instinct,” Montella replied.

“He must increase his consistency in the game to remain at certain levels, but I’ve seen him focused and motivated. I really hope he continues on this way. Cagliari and Pisacane will help him in this journey. I have an excellent relationship with Fabio. We just spoke about Semih.”
