Anthony Taylor will take charge of Tottenham v Newcastle

The Premier League have now confirmed that Anthony Taylor will take charge of Tuesday’s clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with Gary Beswick and Adam Nunn as his assistants.

Gavin Ward will be the fourth official, while Nick Hopton will be in charge of VAR, and he will be assisted by Stuart Attwell at Stockley Park.

According to Transfermarkt, Taylor has officiated 49 Tottenham matches, in which Spurs have won 25, drawn six and lost 18.

In those matches, the 47-year-old has handed 85 bookings to Tottenham players, while he has sent off a Spurs player on three different occasions.

Spurs will be severely weakened against Newcastle

Not only will Tottenham miss Romero, who is now suspended for four matches, but they are also in the middle of a major injury crisis.

Spurs could be without 12 players for the clash against Newcastle, although we are still waiting for Thomas Frank to confirm if any of the injured players could be back.

The one thing that seems certain is that Radu Dragusin is set to make just his second start of the season following the injury to Kevin Danso and the suspension of Romero.
