Hibernian Women return to ScottishPower Women’s Premier League action this weekend; hosting Motherwell at Meadowbank Stadium.

Kick-off is 1pm on Sunday 8 February as the Hibees look to claim a second consecutive league win.

Fixtures

  • Hibernian Women Vs. Motherwell Women - Sun, Feb 08 2026, 13:00

THE LOWDOWN

Our Sky Sports Cup journey came to an end last weekend at Meadowbank Stadium, as we were narrowly edged out by Glasgow City at the Semi-Final stage.

City took a 2-0 lead heading into the hour-mark through goals from Nicole Kozlova and Chloe Warrington before Kirsten Reilly struck back with a fantastic free-kick, though no equaliser could be found.

Joelle Murray’s side now turn their attention back to league duties. After a tough spell over Christmas, we got back to winning ways with a 5-0 victory over Hamilton Academical a fortnight ago.

Ciara Grant opened the scoring with her first goal of the campaign before Eilidh Adams nabbed a brace, Rachael Boyle netted her first league goal this season, and Rosie Livingstone capped off the scoring with a thumping effort.

A win on Sunday would lift Hibernian Women up to 32 points as we seek to rise up the table beyond our current fifth-place position.

TEAM NEWS

Kathleen McGovern made her return to the starting XI for the first time since November in our Sky Sports Cup Semi-Final clash against Glasgow City, while Hannah Jordan was introduced off the bench.

Siobhan Hunter, Milly Boughton and Linzi Taylor all returned to the matchday squad last weekend, and are all in contention to play this Sunday.

Last weekend’s match came too soon for Caley Gibb and Tiree Burchill, who will both continue in their recoveries ahead of this weekend’s fixture.

THE VISITORS

Motherwell are currently eighth in the SPWPL table, sitting in between Partick Thistle and Aberdeen – with all three teams sharing the same 11-point total.

Iain Robinson’s fell to a disappointing defeat last time out, losing out 2-1 to Aberdeen at Balmoral Stadium – with former Hibee, Mya Christie grabbing the winner for the Reds.

The defeat to the Dons extends Motherwell's losing streak to five league matches heading into Sunday’s clash.

We have faced the ‘Well twice this campaign, with both matches occurring in October. We won 5-0 at K-Park in our most recent clash – with Ellis Notley memorably scoring once and grabbing three assists inside the first 45.

In our last meeting at Meadowbank, just weeks before the aforementioned fixture, we secured a 9-0 win in the Sky Sports Cup – as eight different Hibees found the back of the net.
