Patriots’ Drake Maye Gives Answer To Famous Tom Brady Question
New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye was asked a familiar question during Super Bowl Opening Night on Monday.
“Who is your hero?”
If that sounds familiar, it’s probably because you remember when that same question was asked to Tom Brady prior to Super Bowl LI.
“Who’s my hero? That’s a great question. Well, I think my dad is my hero, because he’s someone I look up to every day,” Brady said, getting choked up before struggling through the remainder of his answer. “And, uh… My dad.”
Brady’s answer was one of the original viral moments to come out of Opening Night, which has prompted plenty of copy cat questions to the likes of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts… and now, Drake Maye.
“I think my heroes are probably my older brothers,” Maye said. “I think my heroes — just growing up with them and having someone that close to me live their own lives, and for me to learn from them as the youngest brother — I had something to chase. They all had passions, and I found a passion for myself and it’s football. And now I’m here.”
Maye will look to parlay that passion into the ultimate achievement on Sunday in Super Bowl LX. The Patriots and Seahawks will battle it out at Levi’s Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET.
