Ante Suto: First Hibs TV Interview!

Talented forward Ante Suto reveals it was an “easy decision” at the “right time” to join Hibernian.

The Croatian-Australian attacker joins the Hibees on a two-and-a-half-year contract from Slaven Belupo after delivering 10 goal contributions in 18 league matches in the first half of the 2025/26 campaign.

Suto reveals initial talks began in the summer, and that he is delighted to get the deal over the line heading into a crucial second stage of the season.

“It was an easy decision for me,” he revealed to Hibs TV.

“I already had contact with Hibs six months ago and I was already excited then.

“Now, the call came again and it was an easy decision for me to come here.

“I think it's the right time. I think I had a good season now in Croatia and I think it was the right time to go.

“I hope to do what I did in Croatia,” he added. “It's a tough league, but I think I'm prepared and I hope I will continue my form.”

Signing on until Summer 2028, the 25-year-old comes with vast experience in the Croatian leagues and offers another threat in attack for David Gray's side.

The versatile forward places great importance on his strength and tenacity, as well as his ability to regularly provide goal contributions.

“I'm positioned as a winger but I attack like a striker,” Suto told Hibs TV.

“I'm very physical, aggressive, every time I give one hundred percent, so that's what the fans can expect from me.

“I feel good as a striker, as a winger and I'll play whenever, wherever.

“I just want to win games, to be healthy, without injuries and to be placed close to the top (of the table).”

“As I said, I saw the (Rangers) game, I saw the fans, I saw how passionate they are.

“So they can expect from me to give all the best, to give my heart for this club and I will do that.

“I can't wait to start, I can't wait to run out in the stadium and see all the fans.”
