2025 Samuel Prescott Award Honoree Announced

At the 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM), Midnight Riders President Jeremy Goldenberg shared with attendees that former Treasurer, Secretary, At-Large Board member, and longtime Rider Demetrios “Demetri” Vidalis was selected as winner of the 2025 Samuel Prescott Award, a treasured Riders tradition, for his particularly extensive and dedicated efforts last season with the tifos created that were then displayed at several home matches.

As part of the announcement, Demetri was presented with a banner featuring the original Riders logo that was signed by many Revs alumni.

Throughout 2025, Demetri spent countless hours putting together the fabric for and painting tifos –– for the 250th anniversary of the Midnight Ride, Pride Month, and 30 Years of the Riders –– that stood out above the pitch each time, but also created tangible reflections of cultural history, pride, and memories. So it only made sense to celebrate him with this coveted honor.

“We are thrilled to recognize Demetri with the Prescott Award for 2025,” Riders President Goldenberg said. “We are very appreciative of his work not only last season, but during his entire tenure as a member of the organization.”

Named for Samuel Prescott, a Massachusetts physician and historic participant in the famous midnight ride alongside Paul Revere and William Dawes Jr., the award recognizes a Riders member each time who goes above and beyond in support of the organization’s growth, success, and overall impact.

It is thanks to the tireless work of members like Demetri that the Riders are able to remain successful and display such iconic tifos while growing and spreading a positive message of community across the New England region, the league, and beyond.
