Napoli ready to secure Alisson Santos with €20m option to buy
Despite the serious Giovanni Di Lorenzo injury, Napoli will reportedly go ahead and complete the swoop for Sporting CP wide striker Alisson Santos, on loan with option to buy for a total €20m.
Di Lorenzo was stretchered off during today’s 2-1 win over Fiorentina and coach Antonio Conte suggested they fear he ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
If confirmed, that would be the end of the captain’s season, robbing Napoli of a versatile defender who can play in a wide role too.
Di Lorenzo won’t change Napoli pursuit of Alisson
However, Sky Sport Italia claim that will not change their transfer strategy, so the focus remains on investing in a new attacking wide man.
That will be Alisson Santos, who is expected to arrive over the weekend on loan for €3.5m from Sporting CP.
There is an option to buy that is not an obligation, which would bring the entire cost of the operation to circa €20m.
The 23-year-old Brazilian is right-footed and attacks down the left flank, scoring three goals with two assists in 30 competitive games this season.
