Scarlett: A No-Brainer To Join Hibs
Our third arrival of the January transfer window, Dane Scarlett says it was a "no-brainer" to sign for the Hibees on loan.
The talented 21-year-old forward makes the move to Leith from English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur until the end of the season.
With over 100 senior appearances - as well as UEFA Europa League and UEFA European U19 Championship winners' medals - to his name, Dane now looks to make an immediate impact at Easter Road.
Speaking to Hibs TV, London-born Scarlett revealed he had never previously visited Scotland until now and he is now relishing the challenges that await north of the border.
"I'm really happy to finally be here. I flew over today and I can't wait to get started.
"It's obviously a massive club and it's got great history, and it's a new challenge for me really. I've never been outside England to play football, so it's a new challenge and I'm ready to go.
"I've been looking to get out on loan for the last few weeks. Once I knew Hibs wanted me and made contact, it was a no-brainer for me. I'm ready to go."
Scarlett scored the opener and provided an assist in a crucial Europa League clash against Elfsborg last season that secured Spurs' place in the last 16 en route to winning the competition for the third time in the club's history.
He also scored twice in England U19s' run to Euros glory in 2022, and now the speedy striker is purely focused on finding the back of the net in green and white.
"Playing for your country is probably the best experience that you can get as a young player, I feel. I've played a lot of games, scored lots of goals there and I'm just trying to do that here now.
"I'd say hard-working. I like to press, and scoring goals is my favourite thing in the world. I obviously like to create as well and just help the team and do what I need to do for the team.
"I just want to score lots of goals, play a lot of football and I think we can push for Europe, definitely."
