Man United vs Fulham: Match preview, team news, how to watch, and prediction

0 1

Manchester United welcome Fulham to Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

United came from behind to claim a 3-2 win at Arsenal last weekend, making it back-to-back victories under manager Michael Carrick.

Fulham also came from behind to beat Brighton & Hove Albion 2-1 at the Craven Cottage.

Match preview

This fixture has historically been entertaining, and Sunday’s meeting should not be any different, given the form of both sides.

United head into the fixture with growing belief and energy, aiming to secure a third consecutive league victory and consolidate fourth place.

Playing with a 4-2-3-1 formation, United have defended better and look fluid in attack under Carrick, scoring five goals and conceding twice.

United have been inconsistent at home this term, picking up 21 points from 11 games. Carrick needs to arrest this inconsistency, starting with Fulham’s visit.

The Cottagers have been decent on the road, but are winless in their last two games. United could exploit their recent away form to secure a victory.

Marco Silva’s side are just four points adrift of United and are pushing to qualify for European competition for the first time since the 2009/2010 season.

Fulham arrive for this clash with confidence, with only Man United collecting more points than them in the last six league matches.

Forward Harry Wilson is their in-form player. He netted a sublime free-kick to give them a late victory against Brighton — his third goal in the last four league matches.

The Cottagers have won just twice at Old Trafford in the Premier League, drawing two and losing 14 of their previous 18 visits.

Team news

United have received an injury boost with the return of Joshua Zirkzee to training, but Patrick Dorgu and Matthijs de Ligt are ruled out.

Sasa Lukic and Rodrigo Muniz are sidelined through injury for the visitors. Kenny Tete is a doubt, while new signing Oscar Bobb will sit this one out.

How to watch

The encounter will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Main Event in the UK. Fans can also get live updates via MUTV, the United App and ManUtd.com.

Prediction

We fancy Man United to win 3-1.
