Inter release official Barella injury update

Inter say that Nicolò Barella has suffered a ‘mild strain of the psoas muscle in his right thigh’ and his condition will be evaluated ‘day by day.’

Inter provided an official injury update on their midfield star Barella after the Italy international underwent medical tests on Wednesday.

The Nerazzurri said exams highlighted a mild strain of the psoas muscle in his right thigh and that the midfielder’s condition will be evaluated day by day.

Barella will miss tonight’s Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund, the final one in the league phase.

When will Barella return to action after injury?

TMW reports that Barella will likely be ruled out of Inter’s next Serie A match against Cremonese as well, but could return to action next week against Sassuolo.

On February 15, Inter will host Juventus at San Siro.

Barella, 28, has scored one goal and provided six assists in 29 appearances across all competitions this season.

He joined Inter in the summer of 2020, and his contract with the Serie A giants runs out in June 2029.
