Patriots’ Mike Vrabel Praises Seahawks’ QB Sam Darnold Ahead Of Super Bowl LX

New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel has started his preparation for Sam Darnold and the Seattle Seahawks.

The Patriots will play the Seahawks in Super Bowl LX on Feb. 8 in Santa Clara, California. It’s an intriguing game as Seattle has had one of the best offenses in the NFL all season, backed by Darnold, who signed a three-year, $100.5 million contract with the Seahawks.

Although the Patriots just started their prep, Vrabel admits he’s been impressed with what Darnold has done in Seattle.

“We haven’t watched every game that they’ve played this year yet,” Vrabel said on Tuesday. “So, there will be things that we’ll try to watch and see. I mean, again, it’ll be important that we’re sound. He’s been very efficient.

“Again, everybody’s journey is different, so you give him a lot of credit for the places that he’s been, and how he’s learned and grown. He’s certainly making the most of his opportunity now.”

Darnold has been stellar this season, as he’s been a key part of Seattle’s offense. Vrabel knows the Seahawks offense will be hard to stop as the defense will have to be on its A-game if they are going to win the Super Bowl.

“Offensively, it’s a mix of some of the West Coast stuff, some play action, but then just the scheme and Darnold’s ability to operate and function, and not many people slow down JSN (Jaxon Smith-Njigba),” Vrabel added.

“Kenneth Walker (III), the speed, he can hit the edge, he’s not afraid to cut up. … So, we’re going to have to be really good in all phases, but this is an excellent football team.”

The Patriots are 4.5-point underdogs against Seattle in Super Bowl LX.
