Tottenham make Yan Diomande transfer decision after learning Leipzig’s latest stance

0 1

A new report has shed light on Tottenham’s stance on making a late move for RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande this transfer window.

At the start of the transfer window, it was reported that Diomande was among the names at the top of Tottenham’s wishlist.

In fact, it had even been claimed that Spurs were among the clubs leading the race for the 19-year-old after holding transfer talks, but the speculation has subsided over the last few weeks.

More recently, some outlets have suggested that the Tottenham target is unlikely to leave Leipzig mid-season.

Will Tottenham make an offer for Yan Diomande?

Journalist Lyall Thomas has now offered an update on the 19-year-old’s future on Sky Sports’ live transfer centre.

Thomas confirms that Tottenham are one of several clubs to have expressed an interest in Diomande this transfer window.

However, he reveals that Leipzig have slapped a £87m price tag on the Ivory Coast international’s head, which has put off Spurs as well as other interested clubs.

As things stand, none of the interested clubs are thought to be planning any late offers for Diomande.

Who is leading the race to land Diomande?

Thomas reveals that Manchester United and Liverpool are monitoring the pacy winger closely, while Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain also have their eyes on the wide-man.

The journalists suggest that a move away from the Red Bull Stadium is on the cards for Diomande in the summer, adding that he could be one of the names to watch out for in the next transfer window.

It was claimed by CaughtOffside last week that Liverpool are in pole position to land Diomande, having identified the teenager as the long-term successor to Mohammed Salah.
