Mike Vrabel Sends Message To Patriots On Drowning Out The Noise Ahead Of AFCCG

New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel sent a clear message to the team ahead of their showdown with the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship Game.

The Patriots are on the road to play Denver, who is starting Jarrett Stidham, as Bo Nix has suffered a broken ankle. With Stidham starting, there’s been plenty of talk that the Patriots will cruise to a blowout win, which Vrabel said the team isn’t paying any attention to.

“We just try to stay as consistent as possible,” Vrabel said on Friday. “I think from the time that we started this thing up until now, we try to stay as consistent as possible, continue to coach the actions, not the results, focus on the things that we need to do to win, the environment.

“Making sure that our operation is good, the defense is as prepared as possible for anything that could happen, and the special teams and their role in the game – that’s about all you can do. I’ll try to stay off your phone thing, see if that works.”

Vrabel said he hopes players stay off their phones and stay off social media as the team still has a job to do.

New England is a 4.5-point favorite over Denver as the Patriots are looking to advance to the Super Bowl.

Kick-off of the AFC Championship Game is set for 3 p.m. ET.
