Tottenham receive major fitness boost for Burnley trip and Heung-min Son is a big fan

0 8

One Tottenham Hotspur man, who has not been available for selection since mid-December, could be in contention to feature against Burnley.

Thomas Frank had to deal with an extremely difficult situation against Borussia Dortmund as he had just 12 senior outfield players available to him.

However, the Tottenham boss has five more senior men available for selection against Burnley, with Micky van de Ven back after his suspension, while Radu Dragusin, Mathys Tel, Conor Gallagher, and Yves Bissouma are eligible for Premier League matches.

Spurs have lost Lucas Bergvall through injury, while Joao Palhinha is a doubt for the Burnley game, but another Tottenham midfielder could be in contention to feature tomorrow.

Pape Matar Sarr trains with Tottenham teammates

Pape Sarr was struck down with a virus during the African Cup of Nations, which Senegal ended up winning, although he only featured once in the tournament.

The 23-year-old was thus not available for selection for the midweek game against Dortmund.

However, Spurs have confirmed on their social media handle that the former Metz man is back in training at Hotspur Way, which suggests that he is expected to make the trip up to Burnley.

Sarr walked into the Tottenham training ground proudly holding the AFCON winner’s medal after Senegal overcame Morocco in the final with a dramatic late winner.

Thomas Frank and Richarlison were the first to congratulate the midfielder, while Spurs legend Heung-min Son also reacted to the video posted by the club on social media.

The South Korean wrote: “Oh Pape!! So proud of you, huge congratulations.”
