Report Napoli secure Giovane from Verona for €20m, beating Lazio
Multiple sources claim Napoli are on the verge of agreeing a deal for Hellas Verona striker Giovane for a total fee of €20m including add-ons, beating competition from Lazio.
The forward had been very close to Lazio, who had several meetings with Verona to discuss the potential signing.
However, Napoli dived in when they managed to free up funds by sending Lorenzo Lucca on loan with option to buy to Nottingham Forest, and Noa Lang to Galatasaray for €3m loan plus €27m option.
Giovane on the verge for Napoli
This evening, Sportitalia, Tuttomercatoweb and more all report that Napoli have shaken hands with Verona on the basic outline of a deal.
They are working out the details now, including personal terms with the Brazilian, who only joined Hellas in July 2025 from Corinthians as a free agent.
The 22-year-old can play in various roles, including as a centre-forward, a support striker, or wide on the right.
His arrival at Napoli became even more important after reports David Neres could be out for a couple of months.
