Spiders learn potential Scottish Gas Scottish Cup Fifth Round details

0 1

QUEEN’S PARK will meet Rangers in the fifth round of the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup – if Sean Crighton’s side can see off Stranraer on Tuesday night.

The fourth round match at the Lime Stadium Stair Park was postponed on Saturday morning just as the Spiders squad was due to set off from the southside.

Waterlogged areas near the goalmouths were a cause for concern during the pitch inspection and the tie shifted midweek.

That meant both the Blues and Spiders shared a place in this evening’s fifth round draw, conducted by former Rangers captain Steven Davis at the conclusion of Celtic’s win over Auchinleck Talbot.

The draw pitched the winner of Tuesday night’s match, with Rangers at Ibrox, in what would be a re-run of last season’s historic fifth round match should the Spiders take the spoils in Stranraer.

Fifth round matches are due to be played on the weekend of February 7/8.

The full draw reads:

  • Aberdeen v Motherwell
  • Airdrieonians v St Mirren
  • Dundee Utd v The Spartans
  • Dunfermline Athletic v Kelty Hearts
  • Stenhousemuir v Falkirk
  • Rangers v Stranraer/Queen’s Park
  • Celtic v Dundee
  • Elgin City v Partick Thistle

Any Queen’s Park supporter who was due to travel on either of the Queen’s Park Supporters Association buses is asked to visit the QPSA website for an update on deposits and re-arranged travel to Tuesday night’s match, as soon as possible.
