Tottenham have 50% win record with the referee chosen for West Ham London derby

0 3

The officials have been announced for Tottenham Hotspur’s huge London derby against West Ham in the Premier League on Saturday.

Spurs are still looking for their first win at home in the New Year, having been held to a draw at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium by Sunderland and losing to Aston Villa in the FA Cup.

The Lilywhites desperately need three points to push themselves back up the table, and they face a high-pressure London derby with a lot at stake.

Tim Sherwood has suggested that the club that loses on Saturday could sack their manager, but the Lilywhites have been boosted by the arrival of new signing Conor Gallagher.

Jarred Gillett will be taking charge of Tottenham v West Ham

The Premier League have announced that Jarred Gillett, who oversaw Tottenham’s win at Selhurst Park last month, will be in charge of the London derby on Sunday.

He will be supported by assistants Constantine Hatzidakis and Scott Ledger, while Gavin Ward will be the fourth official.

James Bell will be in charge of VAR, which has once again come under scrutiny over recent days, and he will be assisted at Stockley Park by Steve Meredith.

What is Spurs’ record in games officiated by Gillett?

According to Transfermarkt, Gillett has overseen more Tottenham Hotspur matches than games involving any other Premier League team, officiating 14 matches involving the Lilywhites across his career so far.

Out of those, Spurs have won seven, giving them a 50 per cent win rate, while they have lost the remaining half of the games.

Gillett has shown 33 bookings to Tottenham players across those 14 matches, while he has sent off a Spurs player on one occasion.
