From frustration to delight for Liam McLeish

SPIDERS forward Liam McLeish is delighted that they’re through to the next round of the KDM Evolution trophy after their 2-0 win over Forfar Athletic.

When asked if the team was pleased, he said: “Yeah, definitely, I mean it was also a tough game but I think we expected that.

“We knew the way Forfar were going to come and make it difficult for us and they did that, but we probably made it a wee bit more difficult for ourselves than what we should have.

“Butwe’re into the next round so that’s the main thing.”

Liam was also pleased to have got on the scoresheet to make it 2-0 with the final kick of the ball after a scramble in the Forfar box.

When asked about his goal he said: “Aye, delighted, it’s been a frustrating season, kind of last year but I’m delighted to get back out there and back on the scoresheet.”

He will be hoping to kick on after scoring his first goal this season after suffering an injury that has kept him out the first team for the since the end of October.

He added: “It’s alright now, fine and back to normal.

“It was a frustrating one, my heel. We didn’t really know what it was for the first wee while but got to the bottom of it and it was just kind of rest I needed.

“It was frustrating at the training ground being up in the gym on the walking plate while the guys are out training and you can’t get involved.

“But like I was saying I’m over it now so delighted to get back out there.”

McLeish will be looking forward to Thursday as well as rest of the team to find out who they will face in the quarter finals of the KDM Evolution trophy and McLeish will be hoping to continue where he left off and help his team progress even further.
