Report McKennie targeted by Besiktas as Juventus deal runs down

0 4

Weston McKennie is down to the final few months of his Juventus contract, so Turkish media report Besiktas are ready to make an offer for the USMNT midfielder.

Several different Turkish sources have suggested over the last 24 hours that Juve would be open to a sale for circa €15m plus bonuses.

Considering his contract in Turin only runs to June 30, this is thought to be rather excessive, and Besiktas hope to do a deal for closer to €8m plus add-ons.

McKennie is also reported to be intrigued by the opportunity, with wage demands set at around €4.5-5m per season.

It is hardly the first time that the American has been linked with a move away from Juventus, but Luciano Spalletti and the club have always changed their minds.

His versatility is the most important element, able to play anywhere from full-back to winger to attacking midfielder and even recently as a trequartista behind the striker.

The 27-year-old contributed three goals and three assists in 25 competitive appearances so far this season.
