Milan news: Fofana deletes apology message, but receives support from Leao
Milan midfielder Youssouf Fofana deleted an apology message he had posted on Instagram, but shared words from his teammate, Rafael Leao: ‘Together, brother, no matter who is against us!!’
Milan midfielder Fofana apologised to fans for an awkward mistake during the Rossoneri’s 1-1 draw against Genoa on Thursday.
The French midfielder had slipped just a few meters from goal, completely free, following Nicola Leali’s save on Rafael Leao.
Fofana ‘sorry’ but deletes message
“I’m so sorry,” Fofana wrote in an Instagram story, but then deleted the message shortly afterwards (via Gazzetta).
Minutes later, Fofana reposted a message from Rafael Leao, featuring a photo with him and the caption: “Together, brother, no matter who is against us!!”
Fofana has been a regular starter at Milan this season, making 19 appearances across all competitions.
The Frenchman has scored a goal and provided two assists so far in 2025-26.
Tomorrow, Sunday, December 11, Milan will visit Fiorentina at the Stadio Franchi, and it remains to be seen whether Fofana will start as Massimiliano Allegri has confirmed he’ll rotate his team to cope with a tight fixture list.
