Mike Vrabel Sends Clear Message To Patriots Ahead Of Playoff Game
New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel is eager to see how his team responds to a playoff game.
The Patriots are set to host the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday in the wild-card round. For many key players in New England, like quarterback Drake Maye, it will be their first playoff experience.
When asked how the team responded in practice for the playoffs, Vrabel sent a clear message to his team.
“Find out on Sunday night,” Vrabel said on Friday. “That’s about the best answer I can give you. The preparation was good, execution has to be better.”
Vrabel didn’t stop there as he said everyone has to be focused on every detail in the playoffs.
“Just need everybody at their best on Sunday at 8:15,” Vrabel added. “That’s what the challenge is, to prepare and then obviously enjoy, continue to enjoy what we do in preparation and the execution.
“But everybody just has to be a little bit better in the details and focused on things in their job.”
New England is coming off a stellar 14-3 season as the Patriots finished as the No. 2 seed in the AFC and won the AFC East. The Patriots are 3.5-point favorites against the Chargers on Sunday at 8:15 p.m. ET.
