Key info: Margate Women

0 9

Maidstone United Women return to league action this Sunday, as they welcome Margate to the Gallagher Stadium.

The visitors currently sit fifth in the table with 15 points from 10 games. They ended December with two 1-1 draws against Chislehurst Glebe and Kings Hill.

Maidstone head into the fixture in second place, boasting a perfect record of seven wins from seven league matches. Last weekend, they progressed to the quarter final of the League Cup with a 1-0 victory over Kings Hill, thanks to Ellie Hinkley’s strike just before half-time.

The two sides last met in September at Hartsdown Park, where the Stones claimed all three points with a 5-0 win. Hinkley netted a hat-trick, while player-manager Tori Campbell added one, and an own goal completed the scoring.

With leaders Tonbridge Angels not in action this Sunday, Maidstone have the chance to close the gap at the top of the SECWFL Premier Division to just three points.
