Chelsea forward Sterling offered to Napoli: the details
Raheem Sterling has once again been linked with a possible move to Napoli, though a deal remains complicated and far from a priority at this stage of the window.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, via TuttoNapoli, the Chelsea forward has been offered to the Serie A champions in recent days.
Sterling, who previously played for both Arsenal and Liverpool earlier in his career, is understood to be open to a move abroad.
However, Chelsea’s situation has added a significant obstacle.
The Premier League club have already used up their quota of international loan slots, meaning Sterling cannot leave on loan outside England.
Napoli aware of Sterling situation but make no push
For that reason, Chelsea have explored domestic options such as Fulham and West Ham, while Sterling’s camp has also sounded out interest elsewhere.
Napoli are aware of the opportunity, having already considered the England international last year before ultimately deciding against pursuing a deal.
The main issue remains financial.
Any move would need to be a permanent transfer, and Sterling’s current salary is viewed as prohibitive for Napoli.
As things stand, the winger is not considered a priority target, either for sporting or economic reasons.
That said, Napoli are monitoring the situation.
Should the final days of the transfer window bring a shift in conditions, particularly on wages or overall cost, Sterling could resurface as a late-market option.
For now, however, his name sits firmly in the background rather than at the top of Napoli’s shortlist.
