Rob Gronkowski Identifies His Top Pick For Next Ravens Head Coach

The Ravens parted ways with head coach John Harbaugh after 18 seasons on Monday. Now, Baltimore will be looking for a head coach to pair with quarterback Lamar Jackson, and former New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has a candidate in mind.

“Steve Spagnuolo, I think, is definitely the best candidate,” Gronkowski said on Wednesday during “Up & Adams.”

Spagnuolo has a few years of experience as an NFL head coach from 2009 to 2011 with the St. Louis Rams. He finished with a 10-38 record before being let go. Spagnuolo also served as the New York Giants interim head coach in 2017 for four games.

Even though Spagnuolo hasn’t had much success as a head coach, he’s done a fantastic job as the Chiefs’ defensive coordinator over the last seven seasons. Kansas City appeared in five Super Bowls, winning three over that period.

One knock on Spagnuolo is that he is 66 years old, and many teams are looking to get younger at the head coaching position. However, the Ravens could be the best team for an older head coach, as they have a quarterback and veteran roster ready to win now.

The Ravens are likely the top head coaching opening on the market, and it will be intriguing to see who Baltimore decides to bring on board.
