Confirmed Man Utd XI vs Burnley: Fletcher makes one change to 4-2-3-1, Fernandes in & Yoro out

0 23

Manchester United interim head coach Darren Fletcher has named his starting line-up for today’s Premier League clash against Burnley at Turf Moor.

It is a clash of huge importance as the Red Devils will step onto the field for the first time since the sacking of Ruben Amorim.

The United players must cut out the outside noise and focus on returning to winning ways after dropping points against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leeds United.

Fletcher has seemingly ditched the 3-4-3 system in favour of the 4-2-3-1 formation.

He has made one change to the side from Sunday’s draw with Leeds.

Senne Lammens retains his spot between the sticks. He will be eager to make an early impression by keeping a clean sheet today.

Diogo Dalot starts in the right-back spot with Luke Shaw operating from the opposite side.

Ayden Heaven and Lisandro Martinez will operate at the heart of defence.

The defence will be shielded by a two-man midfield of Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte.

Ugarte is in solid form and is expected to get more game time with an additional midfield slot due to the formation change.

Matheus Cunha and Patrick Dorgu start on the left and right wings respectively, with Bruno Fernandes operating in his favoured number 10 role.

Fernandes makes his return from a hamstring injury he picked up against Aston Villa last month.

The club captain replaces Leny Yoro in the XI.

Benjamin Sesko leads the attack again, with Fletcher showing trust in the 22-year-old striker.

Kobbie Mainoo, Harry Maguire and Mason Mount have returned to the matchday squad after missing the last few games due to injuries.

They are expected to play a role in the second half.

Confirmed Man United line-up (4-2-3-1): Senne Lammens; Diogo Dalot, Ayden Heaven, Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw; Casemiro, Manuel Ugarte; Patrick Dorgu, Bruno Fernandes, Matheus Cunha; Benjamin Sesko
