Tottenham are in a four-horse race for £87m winger who could be signed at a discount
Tottenham Hotspur are battling one Premier League rival and two other European giants for RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande.
It has been widely reported over recent weeks that Spurs have held talks over a January deal for Diomande, who has been one of the most exciting attackers on show in the Bundesliga this term.
The pacy winger has scored seven times and provided four assists in just 16 outings this term, and looks ready to make the step up to a bigger club.
A few days ago, Fabrizio Romano named Tottenham and Man United as the clubs that are particularly keen on Diomande, but it has emerged that two other clubs are also in the race.
Tottenham battling three giants for Yan Diomande
A new report in talkSPORT has now confirmed that the 19-year-old is one of the names on Tottenham’s wishlist for January and that Man United are also keeping an eye on his situation.
However, the Premier League duo face competition from Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain, who have both made initial enquiries about Diomande.
The Ivoray Coast international’s suitors feel that Leipzig’s €100m (£87.2m) asking price is nothing more than grandstanding and that the German club would be willing to sell the winger for around €60m (£52.3m).
Summer deal looking more likely for Diomande
It is explained by talkSPORT that, as things stand, Leipzig are not showing any intention to cash in on Diomande mid-season.
Additionally, the winger is currently at the African Cup of Nations, which further complicates a January transfer.
The outlet adds that next summer’s transfer window could prove the more opportune time for interested clubs to push through a deal for Diomande.
