Tottenham urged to replace Thomas Frank with manager who just lost his job

0 33

Jamie O’Hara wants to see Tottenham Hotspur bite the bullet on Thomas Frank and replace him with a manager who recently became available.

It has been reported over recent weeks that the likes of Mauricio Pochettino and Marco Silva are being eyed by Spurs as possible Frank replacements.

However, according to various sources, Tottenham’s top target to take over from the Dane is Oliver Glasner, whose contract at Crystal Palace runs out at the end of the season.

The 52-year-old does not seem in immediate danger of losing his job, with reports indicating that the Spurs hierarchy is prepared to give Frank time, but a pundit has now urged the Lilywhites to act fast following a big recent development.

Jamie O’Hara tells Tottenham to sack Thomas Frank and hire Enzo Marseca

Spurs have already had two former Chelsea coaches manage them over recent years in Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte.

Now, O’Hara wants his former club to hire a third, urging the North Londoners to secure Enzo Marseca after he was sacked by the Blues.

When asked if he would have the Italian at Spurs, O’Hara told talkSPORT Breakfast: “Yes, I would have him. I think if we could get Enzo Maresca, I’d go and get him right now. I think he’s a good manager.

“He’s won the Club World Cup and the Conference League. I’ve watched Chelsea play, and they battered Barcelona, battered Arsenal. They’re a good side. I think they [Chelsea] made a mistake.

When asked to compare Marseca to Frank, the pundit responded: “Frank is alright. He’s a good manager. I don’t know if he’s a great manager, and I think Enzo Maresca is going to be a great manager.”

Journalist says one factor could make Maresca a ‘pressing option’ for Spurs

TEAMtalk relayed this quote from O’Hara and asked their resident journalist, Fraser Fletcher, if the 45-year-old is an option for Spurs.

Fltecher revealed that sacked Chelsea boss is on Tottenham’s shortlist and suggested that Man City’s interest in him could even force the Lilywhites to act early.

The journalist said about Maresca: “He is someone that Spurs are interested in. The fact he is now a free agent and will be snapped up by the likes of City (should Pep leave) also makes him more of a pressing option.”
