100% i'd rather we keep davies if it meant we could have a summer to address the issues, People on these forums think i am mad for contradicting myself saying he should resign yet i want him to stay, my head is telling me he needs to go as the rot is starting to set in as to confidence, fight and belief , the alarm bells are ringing from two years ago !.
Sacking a manager mid season is a gamble and sometimes it pays off as to Notts forest a few years back, or as recently as blackburn who hired eustace and they stayed up. Then you look luton who sacked edwards and they went down to L1.
I personally dont think the signings have been good enough this season and if we were to ditch davies you have a playing squad who have been with him 18 months and experienced some great moments, therefore there is a high chance players will down tools like they did 2 years ago when eustace was sacked.
If we were to address this from a different prospective and more data driven, we are likely to finish the season winning 15 games and drawing 13 or 14 based on the form of the last 25 games. Therefore around 60 points
IF were to use the last 10 games as form for the remainder of the season we would finish the season with around 50 points therefore leaving the last few games of the season to achieve safety.
One thing is clear this season is most likely finished and it is more about damage limitation short term and stabilising league position with the remaining 20 games.
Personally i think Davies is finished whether it is now or end of the season, it all depends on how attached the players are to the existing manager and who we can get in to replace him and what players we can sign in January. No doubt this is what TW is thinking about now
