Confirmed Man United team news vs Wolves: Amorim provides Fernandes injury update, seven players out, one more doubtful
Manchester United are set to welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers at Old Trafford in the Premier League tomorrow.
Manager Ruben Amorim has delivered the team news ahead of the final league encounter of 2025.
He said in his pre-match press conference (via ManUtd.com): “I don’t know how Mase is going to be for that game.
“I think Kobbie Mainoo is not going to be ready, Bruno is not going to be ready, Matta is not going to be ready, Harry is not going to be ready, so I don’t think we are going to have more players.
“There is no chance he (Fernandes) is going to play against Wolves, you can write that.”
Bryan Mbeumo, Amad Diallo and Noussair Mazraoui are away on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Bruno Fernandes suffered a hamstring injury against Aston Villa and is still on the sidelines.
Matthijs de Ligt and Harry Maguire have missed the last few games due to back and thigh injuries, respectively.
It was recently reported that Maguire has returned to individual grass training but he has yet to regain match fitness.
Kobbie Mainoo is also out of this clash due to a calf problem.
Mason Mount was taken off at half-time in the last game due to an undisclosed injury.
Amorim has suggested that the England international is also likely to miss the upcoming encounter.
The absence of Fernandes, Mainoo and Mount leaves Amorim in a tough situation when trying to field a dependable midfield.
It will also be interesting to see how United fare without the three creative midfielders.
This could pave the way for Jack Fletcher to make his full debut.
A victory against Wolves could propel United to fourth place, depending on the results of other games.
Wolves are yet to win a game this season and have amassed only two points.
The Red Devils are without several players but should still be able to comfortably beat a side that looks destined for relegation.
