Tottenham Hotspur have received a major boost in their pursuit of a highly-rated Brazilian starlet after he made a big decision on his future.

It has been widely reported that Tottenham are looking to add a wide forward to their squad in January.

Over the last few months, it has emerged that Spurs have been scouting a 19-year-old wide-forward, who is turning a lot of heads in Brazilian football.

The player in question is Vasco Da Gama starlet Rayan, who Tottenham are thought to be big fans of, and there has been a big development in the teenager’s future.

Tottenham’s pursuit of Rayan boosted after agent decision

Previously, Barcelona had been installed as Tottenham’s main competitors for Rayan, but the Catalan side have now suffered a major blow.

A new report by Sport has now claimed that the Brazilian has ended his association with super-agent Pini Zahavi.

It is explained that while Zahavi was managing the player, Barca had moved into pole position to land the youngster due to their relationship with the agent.

However, the La Liga side are no longer the frontrunner for Rayan after his decision to part ways with Zahavi, which may bring Tottenham right back into the transfer race.

Spurs continue to face plenty of competition from Rayan

However, Barca falling by the away side does not necessarily mean that Tottenham have an easy run at the Vasco Da Gama forward.

It has been reported over recent weeks that Real Madrid are also willing to spend big to land Rayan after being impressed by his performances in Brazil.

Additionally, some sources have said that Crystal Palace have also overtaken Spurs in the pursuit of the 19-year-old after the Eagles contacted the youngster’s representatives.
