Man City are prepared to submit £40m bid to beat Tottenham to scouted target

0 1

A new report has suggested that Tottenham Hotspur may have to break the bank in order to sign a long-term target.

Over the last 12 months, plenty of reports have suggested that Tottenham had extensively scouted Harry Gray, the younger brother of Archie, who plays as a striker in the Leeds youth sides.

The 17-year-old, who has only made one senior appearance for Leeds, is also thought to be of interest to other clubs in the Premier League.

It emerged earlier this year that Tottenham are facing competition from Arsenal and Newcastle for Harry Gray, and it turns out that another big Premier League club are ready to spend big on the teenager.

Tottenham have to be wary as Man City come up with Harry Gray plan

News first broke on Sunday that Man City have entered to sign Harry Gray, which came as a big blow to the Lilywhites.

Now, CaughtOffside have relayed more information from the Patreon of journalist Alan Nixon, who was the first to break the news about City’s interest in the Leeds man.

It is revealed that Pep Guardiola’s men are prepared to make an offer of £40m for the Spurs target.

It is alleged that City could even offer Kalvin Phillips as a sweetener to Leeds in order to push through a deal for the 17-year-old.

Would Spurs spend £40m on a teenager again?

Spurs paid £40m to sign Archie Gray from Leeds 18 months ago, and the transfer fee raised eyebrows at the time since the youngster was coming off just one good season in the Championship.

In fact, it has been reported that Tottenham beat both Liverpool and Man City to the signing of Archie, and that has proven to be an inspired decision.

City are seemingly keen not to lose out to Spurs for his young brother, and it will be interesting to see if the North London club breaks the bank for another member of the Gray family.
