Thomas Frank delivers blunt update on Tottenham duo Kulusevski and Solanke
Thomas Frank has now shared an injury update on Dominic Solanke and Dejan Kulusevski ahead of Tottenham’s last game of 2025.
Tottenham Hotspur are set to complete the first half of the season without either Dominic Solanke or Dejan Kulusevski featuring in any meaningful capacity for the North London club.
Kulusevski has been sidelined since the semi-final of the Europa League last season under Ange Postecoglou, having suffered a patella injury that has prevented him from taking to the pitch for Spurs ever since.
While Solanke managed a handful of minutes off the substitutes’ bench earlier in the campaign, the forward has yet to kick a ball for Tottenham since August as his recovery continues behind the scenes.
Thomas Frank provides fitness update on Dominic Solanke and Dejan Kulusevski
Thomas Frank has been characteristically blunt in his recent communications regarding the recovery of the two players, and the manager has consistently given very little away to the waiting media.
The Spurs boss has once more shared an update on the fitness of the two forward players ahead of the upcoming game against Crystal Palace, and he has again refused to provide any substantial detail or a definitive timeline for their return.
When pressed for news on whether the duo are nearing a comeback, Frank told the official Tottenham channel that the situation remains unchanged from his previous briefings: “Same as I said before. Both of them, I will be very happy when I can announce now they are part of the squad. That is where it is.”
Impact of Kulusevski and Solanke’s absence on Tottenham squad
This latest update from the manager comes after Dejan Kulusevski himself refused to comment on a potential return to action when he was spotted by journalists following the recent league encounter with Liverpool.
Spurs now have just one more Premier League fixture remaining before 2025 comes to a close, and it appears increasingly likely that the calendar year will conclude without either of the two attackers enjoying a consistent run of games.
The lack of availability in the number ten position is a growing concern for the squad, especially as depth is set to be further depleted with Xavi Simons sidelined following his red card in the match against Liverpool.
