Inter add Fiorentina’s Dodo to list of wing-back targets with Dumfries future in doubt
Inter are continuing to assess their options on the right flank as uncertainty grows around Denzel Dumfries, with Fiorentina wing-back Dodo emerging as a concrete target.
The Dutch international recently underwent surgery, a setback that is expected to keep him sidelined until mid-March, forcing Inter to accelerate their planning for the position.
With Dumfries facing a long lay-off and his longer-term future still unresolved, the Nerazzurri are actively evaluating alternative solutions.
Fiorentina wing-back Dodo joins long list of Inter targets
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, via FCInter1908, Inter are “looking for Dumfries’ replacement” and view Dodo as more than just an idea. The Brazilian full-back, currently a key figure at Fiorentina, is appreciated for his pace, intensity and suitability for a wing-back role in a back-three system.
Dodo had already been linked with Inter during the summer transfer window, but rumours have now resurfaced following Dumfries’ injury.
The Fiorentina defender remains under contract in Florence, meaning any potential move would require negotiations, but the Nerazzurri are understood to be keeping a close watch on the situation.
At this stage, no formal talks have been confirmed, but Dodo’s profile fits Chivu’s side’s technical requirements as they look to ensure depth and reliability on the right side during a crucial phase of the season.
