Today marks the 126th Army-Navy game, dubbed “America’s Game,” and the greatest rivalry in sports.

This year, both the Black Knights of the U.S. Military Academy (6-5) and the Midshipmen of the U.S. Naval Academy (9-2) are entering the game with winning records and postseason Bowl games to prepare for.

The iconic rivalry includes countless traditions and moments of pageantry, including the march on as each academy fills the field.

The “prisoner exchange,” where students who have been temporarily studying at their rival institution are welcomed back to their home academy.

Watch:

And, always, the fervent hope that your team will “sing second.”

Almost every year since 2008, each team has also debuted a special uniform to mark the tradition.

Army unveiled its “250 Years of Service and Sacrifice” uniforms, an elaborate tribute meticulously crafted to honor the Army’s founding in 1775 and the enduring legacy of its soldiers.

Navy’s uniforms celebrate the Original Six Frigates that launched the U.S. fleet, most notably the legendary USS Constitution.

From Sporting News:

The uniform’s color is drawn directly from this history, utilizing Washed Navy to reflect the faded coats of early sailors from 1776 and a deeper “Nautical Navy” to symbolize Constitution’s hull, nicknamed “Old Ironsides” for its ability to repel enemy cannon fire. Accents of “Heritage Red” mimic the color of the cannon carriages lining the sides of the historic frigate, while a base color of Stone represents the shade of the sails that propelled the ship through its storied, undefeated career.

Navy and Under Armour paid attention to every detail. It starts with the copper-colored helmet, which represents the copper sheathing historically used to protect the frigates’ lower hulls. The jersey itself is adorned with symbolic rope detailing—six ropes to represent the Original Six Frigates — and contains exactly 250 knots embedded in the design to honor the service’s anniversary milestone.

Because both teams defeated the Air Force Academy, the coveted Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy is up for grabs.

The trophy is awarded annually to the winner of the round-robin series among the three U.S. service academies.

President Trump will be in attendance as he was as President-Elect in 2016 and in 2024,  and three times while he was President, each time receiving a boisterous and enthusiastic welcome from the crowd.

Last year, President Trump received a hero’s welcome.

Barack Obama only attended one game in 2011, and Joe Biden did not show his support once as Commander-in-Chief, although he did attend as Vice President in 2012.

You can watch the game, beginning with the pre-game grandeur, at 3:00 pm Eastern on CBS or via radio here.

I would be remiss if I did not end this the way I do all correspondence during Army-Navy week: #GoNavy #BeatArmy
